Co-Open is a wholesome, short, and lovely little adventure game that you can play in one sitting. You play as a child on their first solo grocery trip run, and you meet friends along the way! There is no money mechanic. Take all the time you need. Maybe call up some phone numbers you see around the town? Definitely a charming little game. A Short Hike is a classic among cozy indie game enthusiasts, and for a good reason. It has a variety of mechanics and miny games to keep you occupied, all while having a straightforward premise and breathtaking visuals. You take a short hike. Meet new friends. Experience the island. I always struggle to write the title of this game because it's French. Or more accurately it's set in Quebec. And it's bilingual! I find their language switch seamless and fascinating. You are shopping for a gift for your girlfriend. Perhaps there are other things to do...? Sort game, charming graphics, highly recommend. I got Toem for free from Epic Games and it is one of my top 5 adventure/exploration games. The black and white doodle aesthetic works so well and the mechanics are so fun to dabble in and 100%. It takes a couple of sitting to complete but I think it's one of the best free games Epic has given out. I got Button City for free from an itchio charity bundle, and I think this game is wholly underrated. Its child characters are well written, the minigames are fun without being overly repetitive, the minigame modifiers are FUN, though the fetch quests can be a bit of a chore, you can skip out on them and focus on the main game instead. Who doesn't love Stardew Valley? I picked this up on sale and have over 500 hours in it. There's nothing else I want to say. Everyone should play Stardew at least once in their lives Another free game from Epic. This game was so addictive I bought the DLCs so I could have even more content for the game; I don't regret it at all. The tetris inventory system coupled by the varied fishing minigames prevent it from getting boring. It has just the right amount of difficulty spikes and bonus points for the easy, non-horror mode. Apico is a charming beekeeping sim where you breed all sorts of bees. You have to pay attention to its traits, or else they'll get cranky! It feels overwhelming at first but rest assured there is no actual fail state or time limit in Apico. Take it easy and have fun! A classic cozy game, Slime Rancher is very forgiving in its exploration. You breed and farm precious little slimes and sell off their plorts to buy even more kit and upgrades. The gameplay loop is easy to understand and the ambiance of the entire game will suck you in (haha, get it? because Beatrix uses a vacuum?) Free Epic Game, Bear and Breakfast. Again. I watched RTgame play this and forgot about it when I redeemed it on epic. It is such a silly but fun management game that isn't stressfull. It gets overwhelming, but the game makes sure you understand each core mechanic fully before it introduces you to another level of complexity. The plot is weak, but the gameplay and items make up for it. I bought Sayonara Wild Hearts on a whim and it's one of my top 3 games ever, I think. It's an arcadde slash lite shooter game with rhythm elements and a fucking BANGER original soundtrack. I played this right after a break up and I cried listening to the songs. It's synth-pop and if you love Chvrches you'll love Sayonara Wild Hearts I play Ensemble Stars on my phone to fill the void that Love Live! School Idol Festival has left me with. The gacha system is give-or-take, but the song selection is no joke and the beatmaps are suited for EVERY skill level. Unless you have an addictive personality, try picking up Enstars and see if you like it. This game, at time of writing, has only 32 reviews on steam. I got Klang 2 from an itchio charity bundle and I RAVE about this game. The EDM soundtrack is unique and varid with small artists contributing to it, all while the gameplay is suited for both PC and console, keyboard or controller. It is easy to pick up, hard to master. And it's not live service! Ah, yes. Love Live School Idol Festival. I miss you dearly. Enstars just doesn't hit the same. Another defunct rhythm game? well, yes! YG Beatevo has a layout similar to LLSIF and Enstars but their gimmick was that the map was broken down into thirds, making it easier to keep track of notes and switch from thumb to thumb. Unfortunately, they've shut down and now use a template SuperStar format for their newest rhythm game. Booooo This is the only NSFW game on this list. Red Embrace:Hollywood is a sequel-ish to Red Embrace. It's a dating sim visual novel where the male love interests are vampires. It's dark, gritty, and nihilistic. Definitely no fluff in the game. All the endings are bitter, and the true ending is no better. You get out of it what you put into it though, so do play it with an open mind. And with caution. Similar to other bartender talking games, Coffee Talk's strength comes from its cozy pixel atmosphere and chill soundtrack. The vibrant cast of characters will accompany you, the coffee bartender, throughout the night. It's a simple concept with easy to understand order system. No puzzles or too much guesswork is needed! Nusantara: Legend of the Winged Ones is an old otome game on itchio. Developed and made by one person, it holds up very well as an indie. It features Indonesian culture mixed with fantasy isekai, making for a memorable experience. Nekopara: Catboy's Paradise was an april fools game made by the developers of Nekopara, the catgirl game. It is a short, voiced, catboy maid otome. It is sweet and comforting with a small cast of tropey characters. I still love it though! How long has it been since Mystic Messenger was in the public consciousness? Ah, what a throwback. I used to stay up late and wake up early for these guys. And I mean 3 AM early. The hit otome game is addictive for a reason. The chats feel intimate, the phone call feature feeds your starving Yume soul, and the routes are plenty. Just don't forget to eat, okay? ♡ Stacklands is one of Sokpop's popular titles, for good reason! It's a resource management sim with a deck of cards that has a generous difficulty toggle as well as cute, charming art. If you like resource management, try this game! I bought Moonpong because I knew I'd like the game, and it did not dissapoint. It is a round Pong roguelite. That's the entire premise. The pixel art style is colorful, psychedelic, almost, and just bursting with character. If you like arcade games or Pong, try this! Also from a charity bundle on itchio, Vignettes is a trippy puzzle game reminiscent of Monument Valley and the likes. It's unexpected, easy to understand, and can be properly head-scratching at times! It's the Sims 4. It's Minecraft.
