Welcome to my little corner of the Internet! I'm Catdya, a portmanteau of Cat and Nadya. I'm a creative in the truest sense.
I love making art, be it drawing, writing, crafting, or expressing myself. If not given enough creative and mental stimulation,
I lose a little bit of myself.
I graduated with a degree in English linguistics in 2023, ever since that I've been on a soul-searching quest
to find out what else I'm good at besides academia. Studying is one of my strong suits. I tutored my underclassmen
and held mock study sessions with my friends because I'm passionate about language and teaching it.
Around March 2025, I became fascinated with the indie web movement.
Particularly I saw Flavor Foley's lyrics annotation page that inspired me to make my own, but for poetry.
I would not have expected to be knee-deep in web development just from that small push.
Understandably, because I am newly self-taught in HTML and CSS, I still consider myself a complete newbie in the field.
I love creating assets for this website and learning new things, hence why I'm still at it more than half a year later.
This page has one through many iterations, evolving alongside my sense of aesthetic and coding abilities.
It was once a notebook layout, then a ransom letter layout, then a different book layout, to what you see before you.
My aspiration is to make this site a personal home on the internet, a corner where I could express myself in ways
conventional social media cannot let me. I want to freely create on the internet without fear of algorithms or censorship.
I believe in a free web, where people can remix, adapt, and share their creations. I also believe that you should
make your own personal website, if you haven't already!
If you've gotten this far, email me at catdyafr@gmail.com to talk about literally anything! Sorry I haven't set up a guestbook yet :]
